The Markgräflerland region stretches from Freiburg to Basel, between the Black Forest and the Rhine. The Markgräfler way of life is characterized by culinary delights, sunshine and openness. Anyone who has ever been here can understand why the poet J.P. Hebel called it "his little paradise garden".
There are not only many vineyards and winegrowers here, but also a unique density of great and varied gastronomy. Vines, orchards and the Black Forest form a unique landscape. France and Switzerland are just a stone's throw away and the influences of both countries - especially in culinary terms - can be clearly felt.
It's no wonder that almost everyone who has ever spent a vacation here keeps coming back. Why not visit the beautiful Markgräflerland region, perhaps one of our vacation apartments is available?
The grapes find the ideal conditions for ripening here from day one. Many hours of sunshine, sufficient rainfall that streams through the "Burgundian gate" and the cool air currents from the Black Forest are great prerequisites for great wines. Our vineyards have been cultivated by our family for generations and we know them like the back of our hand. In addition to the typical Markgräfler Gutedel, elegant Burgundies and aromatic specialties such as Huxelrebe and Muscaris grow here.
The EICH is the warmest vineyard in Laufen. Our Burgundian Pinot clones grow above a picturesque dry stone wall. It is grandfather Hermann's favorite vineyard. Here every grape cluster is thinned at least once - and petted three times.
The ENNWEGE offers optimal conditions for our elegant Pinot Blanc. It is located on the Black Forest slope, which faces west and is significantly cooler than the other Laufen sites. The soil here is characterized by limestone. Just a few meters further on, you will find an impressive edge where you can see the layers of soil.
Our powerful Pinot Gris and smooth Chasselas grow in the WINGERTE. The Südlage is one of the oldest and best-known vineyards in Laufen and is classified as a "Große Lage". The vines are rooted here on fertile limestone marl soil.
